“On behalf of the Wanaaring Community, local mothers and the School community, I would sincerely like to thank FRRR and Nutrien Ag solutions for partnering to offer this grant to rural communities.”
Lani Grace, Treasurer

“We used FRRR funding to enhance the Wanaaring Public School library by the purchase and installation of a split-system air-conditioning unit. To provide a comfortable location for necessary aspects of learning for school students, distance education students and a comfortable meeting venue for wider community groups.
“Without the funding the school library would have continued to be an uncomfortable space for students and staff, and local community groups would have continued to be at the mercy of the weather at several other meeting venues at Wanaaring; which equates to poor meeting attendance and limited community participation.
“Also, the lack of positivity and progress within this local community would have continued to weigh the community down. With the installation of the new air conditioning in the library, not just the school, but wider community groups, can enjoy a comfortable space to hold meetings and events. This promotes greater community participation, with members knowing the temperature at the venue will not make the outing uncomfortable.
“Thanks to the FRRR staff for their support during the application process as numerous queries arose. Congratulations on a commendable 25 years of supporting remote, rural and regional communities just like ours.
“By 2050, we really hope to have created a social venue where friends can meet, have a drink and a meal.”
