Out of Session grants Occasionally, if we have sufficient funds, FRRR awards Out of Session grants from our core granting programs. This is by exception and happens only when funding for a project is time-critical. The grants awarded in recent years are included in the table below.

The Dongara Patchwork Club meet in the WA fishing town of Port Denison, which is located almost four hours north of Perth. Every three years, the club hosts a ‘Hanging of the Quilts’ event to exhibit new works completed by club members and the event draws tourists into town, supporting the local arts economy. In October 2019, the Dongara Patchwork Club used a $4,403 Strengthening Rural Communities grant to fund the event.

FRRR is a company limited by guarantee, with our Members being the Australian Government and the Sidney Myer Fund. The organisation is a specifically listed Item 1 DGR entity in legislation (see ATO endorsement), which we describe as our superpower.
