CDP partners with FRRR to support medium to long-term bushfire recovery

The Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal has received support from the US-based Center for Disaster Philanthropy with a US$500,000 grant to assist in addressing the medium to long-term recovery needs of bushfire affected communities across rural, regional and remote Australia.

Donor spotlight: Mark Muller, Editor-in-Chief, R.M.Williams Publishing Pty Ltd

Partner Update: 13 August 2020

At the height of the bushfire crisis this past summer, R.M.Williams announced a long-term partnership with FRRR. In a recent interview, Editor-in-Chief of R.M.Williams OUTBACK magazine Mark Muller explained that the partnership came about because the company was seeking a practical, independent and respected pathway for R.M.Williams to give back across the country. He said that it was FRRR's connections and insights, as well as rigorous governance processes, that led R.M.Williams to partner with FRRR. “The grant recipients are organisations and endeavours that we wouldn't necessarily know about ourselves, but are a vital part of the underlying warp and weft of what makes communities strong.”

The Foundation operates the RAS Rural Fund, a charitable organisation that is currently fundraising via a Not-for-Profit Fundraising Account to help community organisations across rural and regional NSW refurbish and restore rural showground kitchens.
