Thirty-four projects set to seed and strengthen the recovery of communities affected by the 2019-20 bushfires are sharing in $589,945 in grants, thanks to aa special stream of bushfire recovery funding via FRRR's Strengthening Rural Communities program.

The Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal's Black Summer bushfire recovery funding has been bolstered thanks to a $250,000 donation from the Waislitz Foundation, in partnership with Australian Community Media. These funds will go towards supporting projects that focus on the recovery of the people and places impacted by the 2019/20 summer bushfires.

FRRR, in partnership with News Corp, has awarded a further $410,159 in grants to support the recovery of rural communities impacted by the Black Summer bushfires. News Corp has also announced it will be adding a further donation of $500,000 to top up the News Corp Bushfire Fund to $1.5 million.
