Mycelia Renewables Ltd – Community Benefit Sharing

Mycelia operates as a social enterprise and their focus is to support and enable rural business and community initiatives to participate in and benefit from the circular economy. They believe all people have the right to access renewable energy and share in the benefits flowing through the renewable energy boom. Mycelia are taking a 'community-centred benefit sharing' approach which starts with a community-centred development strategy and then tailors a benefit scheme to enable the strategy to deliver sustained local benefits. Mycelia are currently co-designing a community-centred benefit sharing approach with Spiegel Energy and Radial Timbers in Yarram, Victoria. Through an energy development at Radial Timbers, Spiegel Energy are committing funds into a benefit scheme. The pilot project will support Yarram and District to develop a community-led strategy to determine how these funds are spent. Donations will support project activities.
