The new appointment was announced by Minister Rishworth on 2 October 2024 – Appointments to the Stronger Places, Stronger People National Leadership Group.

The key purpose of the National Leadership Group (NLG) is to support the Stronger Places, Stronger People strategy and implementation of place-based collective impact as an approach to building stronger futures for children and their families and disrupting disadvantage.

In commenting on her new role as a member of the NLG, Ms Egleton said, “I am eager to make a useful contribution to this work by bringing a grounded rural perspective to policy questions including a broadening of thinking about ‘disadvantage’ in considering regional development and economic opportunity.”
