Disaster Resilient: Future Ready program to launch in Victoria

Partnership will help to strengthen communities impacted by Black Summer bushfires

The Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal's Black Summer bushfire recovery funding has been bolstered thanks to a $250,000 donation from the Waislitz Foundation, in partnership with Australian Community Media. These funds will go towards supporting projects that focus on the recovery of the people and places impacted by the 2019/20 summer bushfires.

Leading in Longreach

Community stories: 26 October 2020

A grant of $14,500 from the Tackling Tough Times Together program, co-funded by the Qantas Foundation and Friends of FRRR, meant that 20 people in Longreach, QLD, had the opportunity to participate in a leadership development program. Over three days, participants learned a number of new skills to further their personal and professional leadership development. An Alumni day gave people in the area the opportunity to network with their community.

A new historic cellar for Beltana

Community stories: 26 October 2020

Beltana is a small, state heritage listed town with a population of 35 people located 540 km north of Adelaide in South Australia. A $15,000 grant funded by ANZ and administered by FRRR meant that the town could uncover and restore a 70-year-old cellar under the local Assembly Hall. Now, the space is used as a local gallery and is a tourist destination.
